Activities and Events

Our monthly events and activities are the heart and soul of the MOMS Club
of Chandler NE. They are how we connect to each other and our
community. That is why we offer a wide range of things to do each month.
All of our activities are held during the day, except for Mom's Night Out,
Family Activities, and
any other special evening community event that the group chooses to include. Scroll down to
see full descriptions, or check out our current calendar.

-
Activity Days are events where the club gets together for a
special activity, such as throwing a holiday party, touring a museum, or
doing an activity like bumper bowling. We have at least one per month,
generally on Wednesday mornings. We vote for each activity at our
monthly business meeting. Past activities have included Krispie Kreme
Tour, Basha's Store Tour, Phoenix Zoo, Dugan's Dairy Farm, Pumpkin Patch,
fire station tour, Chuck E Cheese, Peter Piper Pizza, mall play areas, and
various holiday parties for Halloween, Christmas, and Easter.
-
Big Sister Program is a mentoring program for new members to help them
feel welcome. Each new member who participates is paired up with a
"Big Sister" who introduces her to other members and guides her through the
ins and outs of the club.
-
Once a month, members get together for a tasty treat! Each mom brings a
dish to go along with the theme for that month (for example, Side Dishes).
Recipes are swapped and a good time had by all!
-
Business meetings are held on the 4th Wednesday of every month.
At our business meeting, we discuss old and new business, vote on next
month's activities and receive a calendar of events. We also provide
free childcare during the meetings for children who can walk. All members
are asked to volunteer in the childcare room approximately once per year.
Members are assigned their month in advance.
-
All International MOMS Club chapters are asked to perform at least one service project per year benefiting children in their community.
Last year our club planted a Healing Garden at a local park. It was our
way of
celebrating the annual "Make a Difference Day." The garden was
later dedicated to a lost member. In the past, our club has
raised money for a variety of charities by selling cookbooks of our recipes,
coupon books, cookie dough, or baked goods. We also collect donations like
clothing, toys, and food.
-
Meal support provides members in need with a meal whether due to a new baby, extended illness, surgery, or family emergency.
-
Moms' Night Out is a fun night out and a chance for the mom's to get together! We have one
MOMS night out per month. It's a time to get to know other moms and
enjoy uninterrupted adult conversation. Nursing babies are always
welcome. Some of our past MOMS Night
Out's include bowling, dinner, movies, shopping, mystery mansion, karaoke,
dancing, laser tag, and much more. We vote on our MOMS Night Out event
at our monthly business meeting.
-
New member's brunch is held monthly to introduce new members to the
club. It's a great way to meet club members and a good excuse to get
the kiddies to play while we relax! Some board members and
coordinators will also attend to go over what they do in the club and will
discuss what the club has to offer you.
-
During the fall, winter, and
spring, we go to various parks in and around Chandler and during the summer,
we visit the many local public pool facilities. For a complete list of
parks and pools we visit, click here.

-
Splash days are summertime water activities (pool, Slip-n-Slide, sprinklers,
play pool) provided at one of our homes. They are an easy way to have fun
and cool off at the same time!
-
Our weekly playgroups are the backbone of the MOM'S Club! Organized by age
group, it's a great way for your child to play with other children his/her age.
Playgroups allow moms to get out of the house and have some adult conversation.
In addition, you and your children will build valuable friendships through the
time spent with your playgroup. Of course, moms can and do bring their
other children to playgroup, even if the ages are different. Playgroups
meet at member's homes or at other, agreed upon locations such as mall play
areas and local parks. To view our chapter's playgroup guidelines,

-
Scrapbooking meets occasionally throughout the year to help us set aside time to
preserve our photo memories! Normally, we meet at a member's house. You can
create an amazing scrapbook for family while you socialize with other moms!
Again, children are always welcome. Occasionally a project will be
planned for the group to learn together
-
Family Activity Program offers the same benefits of the
Activity Days to entire families who may enjoy participating in family
enriched activities at times the majority of your family can attend. This is
a great opportunity to get Dads and school aged children in on all of the
fun, bonding and enrichment that group activities offer. This too will be an
activity brought to a vote at business meetings each month to determine the
next month’s event.
- Once per month, moms and kids get together at a mom's home
for a story and a related activity! This is one of our newest programs
and has taken off with a BANG!
- To spice up the kiddos Media time, while mommies get to catch up, your
children get to watch a variety of movies in a variety of homes that beats
the doldrums of watching the same ole’ shows in the same ole’ place. This
affords members time to share children appropriate movies together.
-
If chasing your children and good housekeeping are not
giving you the workout your heart, body and mind are in need of you’ll
enjoy Mommy WorkOut. Your Host may choose to either provide their home
and video workout for members to increase endorphins together in while
little ones play or the Host Mommy may choose their neighborhood to
Stroller Exercise around with a brisk walk, some toning and stretches.
-
Meet at local coffee houses or member’s homes to relax,
unwind and visit amongst fellow moms who have been, are, or will be
experiencing the lifestyle you currently embody while enjoying your
beverage of choice. Children and their books, coloring tools, and
portable games or entertainment are welcome but not required and may
enjoy a special treat and socializing as well.
